Braised fennel is an unknown treat. Add it to dishes to add a bit of black licorice taste or even add it on a charcuterie board.
Recipe

fennel bulbs
3 cups
vegetable stock
2 Tbsp.
unsalted butter
1 tsp.
Kosher salt
1 tsp.
black pepper
, freshly ground
Step 1
Remove the stems of the fennel and shave the bottom of each bulb to remove the dirt. Quarter each bulb leaving the end to keep each quarter entacted.
Step 2
In a medium pot combine all of the ingredients including the prepared fennel. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Allow the fennel to simmer until it becomes fork tender, approximately 30 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool. Store in refrigerated in an air-tight container.
