If I haven’t been obvious enough, a fire, a cocktail with the Fall air is high on my list these days. The Fall moves me into bourbons and gins as my base with the Manhattan making the top of the list. While traditionally served neat, I prefer a singular large format cube to force the sip.
Recipe
1 oz.
bourbon
½ oz.
sweet vermouth
2 dashes
Angostura bitters
orange twist
brandied cherry
Step 1
Fill a mixing glass with ice along with the bourbon, sweet vermouth and bitters.
Step 2
Stir until chilled.
Step 3
Place a large format ice cube in a rocks glass.
Step 4
Strain the cocktail into the rocks glass.
Step 5
Twist the orange twist to release the orange rind oil. Garnish with the orange twist and brandied cherry.
