The Last Word was first served at the Detroit Athletic Club around 1915 and it hits the notes for moving into spring. Gin, green chartreuse, fresh lime juice, with a brandied cherry as a nod to all of the Manhattan’s from the last winter
Recipe
¾ oz.
dry gin
¾ oz.
Green Chartreuse
¾ oz.
maraschino liqueur
¾ oz.
fresh lime juice
brandied cherry
Step 1
Take a shaker full of ice and add the dry gin, Green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur and fresh lime juice. Shake until well chilled.
Step 2
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Step 3
Garnish with a brandied cherry.
