Swine & Sea — The Last Word — French Creole Recipe

The Last Word

The Last Word was first served at the Detroit Athletic Club around 1915 and it hits the notes for moving into spring. Gin, green chartreuse, fresh lime juice, with a brandied cherry as a nod to all of the Manhattan’s from the last winter

Recipe

  • ¾ oz.

    dry gin
  • ¾ oz.

    Green Chartreuse
  • ¾ oz.

    maraschino liqueur
  • ¾ oz.

    fresh lime juice
  • brandied cherry
    Step 1
  • Take a shaker full of ice and add the dry gin, Green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur and fresh lime juice. Shake until well chilled.

  • Step 2
  • Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

  • Step 3
  • Garnish with a brandied cherry.
